I started with Bristol Smooth Paper and built a bouquet using VersaFine black ink and stamps from Tim Holtz's Flower Garden stamps and a leaf stamp from a discontinued set of See-D's Stamps.
I took my Inktense pencils and added a few lines of color to the leaves using the Leaf green and Apple Green for the perfect shade.
I used the same method for the flowers, working with Fuchsia and Poppy Red, working with one flower at a time. The curled edges of the flower are colored using just the Fuchsia. I had to use two layers of color to create the deep intensity. I also used Sun Yellow to put the spots of yellow on the stamens.
Once the piece was dry I took a Micron 01 to outline the flowers and the leaves, which brought back the intensity of the black outline. I don't usually do this, but felt this card needed this extra touch.
The centers of the flowers needed to be outlined with a Micron 005 to keep the fine details. This really made the middle pop.
After I outlined everything I used a stamp from the Momma Elephant Pretty Peonies stamp set and the Mother stamp from an older discontinued stamp set from Impression Obsession, to create the greeting. The "Wishing you a beautiful day" is all one line, but I broke it up using the post-it note trick to block off sections of the stamp while inking. I used a Sakura Clear Glaze pen and put a dot on each of the yellow stamens, which doesn't really show up in the pics. In real life, it really adds a lot of interest to the card.

For the finishing touches, I added some jewels using Multi Medium Matte. I picked up these jewels at a local scrapbook store when I was home in November. I really love how this card turned out.
