The Life of a Card Maker - Week 1

I thought I'd start the New Year by reviving my blog.  I love what Tracy over at Shutterbean does with her "My Everyday Life" posts, but I've never successfully stuck with weekly posts.  That said, I'm going to give a weekly themed post a new spin with a behind the scenes type of post on Fridays.

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you already get snapshots of what happens behind the scenes.  I share shots of my desk and works in progress, but with these posts, I'll share a week of these shots.

I laid this out Wednesday night before bed, as both practice of my flat lay photography with my iPhone and as a starting point for this morning.  Before work today I'll be adding writing panels inside and labels to the back of each card.  Most of these will be sent out on Monday.

Coloring, something I'm practicing.  That seems funny to say, but it is what it is.  I have a number of supplies for "coloring" and I really want to incorporate them more into my creative process.

Waiting for glue to dry.

Stash clean out, eBay listing

Writing Thank You cards to friends and family after the Christmas gift giving.

Homemade ink dobbers.  I'm cheap when it comes to some things and if I can make it rather than buy it I will.

Getting Inky!!  My favorite thing!  Embossing resist and distress inks.

I hope you like these little views from behind the scenes.  Leave me a comment and let me know if you love it or if there is something you'd like to see from behind the scenes in my studio.

Happy Friday!
