Sending Hugs - Jelly Fish

Hello Lovely.  Today's card is ocean inspired, as I've been longing for the beach this summer.  Our Alaskan summer didn't show up until halfway through July, and the leaves are starting to turn yellow as I write this.  Yes, I know, it's only the first day of August.  Enough about that. Let's talk about this card.

I've been getting back into my ink blending groove.  I pulled four blues from my stash - Faded Jeans, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass.  I started with a couple of stamps from the Simon Says Stamp set called Under the sea.  I stamped the sea floor on to Canson watercolor paper with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, then I added the jellyfish with VersaMark ink and used Clear Ranger Superfine Detail embossing powder.  I blended the inks, working from lightest out to darkest and then splattered with water to get the desired water texture.  I dried the panel with my heat gun, stamped the Sending Hugs sentiment from a Papertrey Ink set, cut the panel with the Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles die, mounted it onto a black matt and them onto the pale blue card base.  As a finishing touch, I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the jellyfish, which just doesn't show in the pics.
