Cards for Girls Love Mail

Hello Lovely.  How did it get to be Monday already?  Our weekend just seemed to fly by.  Anywho...  Let's talk about Girls Love Mail.  This is an amazing cause.  I love sending Happy Mail, but sending the gift of a handwritten letter to someone Newly Diagnosed with Breast Cancer is a cause close to my heart.  My mom is a breast cancer survivor.  So when my girlfriend asked me for some cards so that her office could send cards I was totally on board.

I created 20 cards for her and I'm sharing this post as more of an idea post than the usual detail post.  I did a lot of stash busting for these cards and I've listed the stamp sets along with a few other tools I used to create these cards below.  The goal of this project was just to get in the zone and create.

For these, I used some paper from my scrap stash, stenciled them with some Distress Ink to create a tone on tone look.  Cut them with my Art Impressions Stitched Squares Dies.  I added the panel to a white card base, stamped the sentiment and added the dandelion die cut from my stash.

I couldn't do a set of cards without some ink blending and stencil masking.  This set is done with Distress Ink and the Echo Park Polkadots #2 stencil over a heart mask.  Added a sentiment, die cut the panel with my Stitched Rectangles from Simon Say Stamp, and completed the card by adhering the panel to a white card base.

I couldn't stop with just two ink blended cards, so I did just a few more and added some sentiments from Avery Elle and Honey Bee Stamps.

For these cards, I went back to the stash and busted some more colored scraps with some tone on tone ink blending, added a sentiment strip and a flower from my stash of goodies I've been hoarding.

By the time I reached this set, I was on a stash busting roll.  I did the same tone on tone stencil ink blending and added some flowers from my die cut stash.  I stamped a sentiment from the Perky Penny Paper Arts I Care set.

I really like the tone on tone technique to bust through my stash so I created a few more with these heart die cuts and another sentiment from the Perky Penny Paper Arts I Care Set.
