Happy Birthday Too

Hello Lovely.  Can you believe it's Monday already?  Our weekend seemed to fly by, maybe that's because it was consumed with must do's before the seasons change on us up here in the Interior of Alaska.  So not ready for that, but the leaves are gone from our trees and the grass is turning that shade of yellow-brown, but you're not here to talk about the changing season.  Let's get on with the card.

I started with a cream panel and the retired Leafy Border stencil from Echo Park.  I did some ink blending using Distress Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, and Shappy Shutter.  My goal was to create a kind of vintage wallpaper look for this background.  I cut the panel with, you guessed it, Stitched Rectangles dies from Simon Says Stamp.  I put the panel into my stamp platform and stamped the word happy from the Neat and Tangled Happy Holiday set and the word birthday from the Simon Says Birthday Set.  The leafy panel was added to a mat of cream cardstock and then adhered it onto a leaf green card base.  I completed the card by cutting the Kat Scrappiness Side Profile Butterfly form some gold specialty paper and added it to the card front as if it were going to land on the happy.
